Contact: Broomhouse Nursing Home Care Quality Commission

We saw that people were supported to make simple decisions and when people were unable to make more complex decisions for themselves the provider acted in accordance with legal requirements. The Care Quality Commission is the official regulator for the care sector. They inspect care homes and care services to make sure they are safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led.

We decorate the rooms to an individual resident's taste and there is plenty of space for them to place items they have brought with them. We recognise that people have a need to have ornaments and pictures that are important to them and familiar objects close at hand make this a true 'home from home'.

Serendipity Healthcare Ltd

If the service user is unable to do this, the nurse acts as their advocate, involving independent advocates as necessary, but only in the service user’s best interest. Registered under Intacare Limited, at Broomhouse we offer our residents quality care, set in a homely environment with comfortable, modern surroundings. Broomhouse is to the immediate west of Calderbraes Golf Club, which forms part of the decreasing green belt separating Glasgow from settlements in Lanarkshire. There are no sporting facilities in the neighbourhood other than a few children's play areas. But, as part of the masterplan deal for the land, developers agreed to provide funds to upgrade the basic facilities at James Lindsay Memorial Park in Baillieston . However, by 2018 no improvements had been carried out to the park with the housebuilding ongoing.

Bus services are limited within the development but prominent on its peripheries. The area was home to a mining community in the late 1800s and early 1900s, with several pits in the local area. There was another tavern across the street, Smugglers Inn, but this did not survive into the 21st century. As the mining industry declined in the 1930s, a small housing development with a community hall and park was established. It is bounded to the north by a railway line which divides its territory with that of Bailleston, while to the south the M74 motorway separates it from Daldowie.
